crocheting

finally got my room painted, new curtain rod & curtains up, a huge new table for my craft work and the room cleaned! only left some packing and arranging of stuff left. =D

in between this time, i could not do any beary stuff since they were all in bags n boxes to prevent them getting dusty and dirty. so to satisfy my hands, i picked up crocheting! but oh man... it's so tough!

i can manage to do simple knots and stitches but i simply cant seem to get it right. i'm working on a hp pouch now. over the weekend, i tried a mini hat, a a couple of practice circles. but somehow it still keeps going awry. cant figure out where i'm going wrong.

found a couple of websites (with help from some lovely forum frenz) that offers patterns for bear's clothes and toys. but the jargon simply makes me even more confused. i think, i shall continue with my sewing and furry bears. it's much more satisfying and fun and my eyes wont get tied up in knots!

Prince Charming.... refurbished!

Pls meet Prince Charming. He's all dressed up and ready for a Christmas date!

i'm really quite pleased with how he turned out. He was originally known as Little Pheobe from 1 of my earlier posts. She had an oddly mis-shapened head and very misaligned limbs. hahaha.

i readjusted his limbs, gave him a new head, felted nose, a little trim, some cologne to freshen up. He also has a new crown made of lace and hardened with PVA. And a little red rose for his beloved & a smart new bowtie!!

i also tried brushing on some fabric paint. So he looks as if he has frosted fur. i like it!! ohh, and i also sissor-sculpted his face! =D

Friends!

I finally completed the bear! woohoo~

I'm pretty pleased with him this time round. it's my first design ever. The first pattern i ever drawn out and created. =)

He was supposed to be a rabbit but long ears just didnt suit him.

He was also supposed to be a little sad looking, not grouchy. but oh well, i supposed he was not happy that i wanted to make him a rabbit.

Grouchy is made of synthetic short pile mink & he's 2.5'' sitting abt 3.5'' standing. he's made to sit though & wouldnt like it much if u insisted and made him stand. He has bended knees & is thread jointed. He has little hearts at his arms and legs. Even though he looks so grouchy, he's really very sweet!

Despite his fierce demeanor, Grouchy is always kind to little babies so much that they often take advantage of him! He's particularly fond of a little baby panda who cant keep his paws out of mischief.

Pinky Pandy is a needle-felted little baby panda keychain. He's approx 1.2'' tall & is my first attempt at needle felting.

Pinky Pandy runs around all day and refuses to stay on a bunch of keys for too long. Pinky Pandy loves to hang around with Grouchy as he spoilsPinky Pandy rotten and give him lots of jam to eat!

Beary Cheerful!

My latest teddy! Bear #6. =D

i super love his color combination. He's 2.5 inches sitting and 3.5 inches standing. Thread jointed. Fabric is some kind of synthetic mink fleece from spotlight which is easy to work with even with the slight stretch.

His head was designed by me. I wanted to give him puffy cheeks but he ended up with a long muzzle instead. haha...

Now i finally understand why Sheila kept telling me previously to stuff the nose as firmly as possible. I had an extremely tough time stitching his nose on! Sew and re-sew and re-sew! At least 10 times now. And i'm still not satisfied. i re-stitched it again last night. 3 times!! will try again tonight. ahahah.. his poor nose. He will probably have nostrils at the rate i keep sewing his nose. lolx.

Next to start designing: arms and legs.

I love this bear by the way, for all his flaws and noses! haha

Hope you like him too. =D

Violet!

Violet, my first bear which i tried to modify the pattern.

I reduced the pattern, gave her a bigger tummy & changed her arms.

Her hat is my first attempt at needlefelting which was done solely based on my imagination. It is tedious needle felting the hat! i like it though. It's felted with a blend of pink & shades of purple merino wool.

Violet is approx 1.5inches tall sitting.

Her hat & ribbon is removable.

Making friends with Peridot...

Hope you liked Violet! =)
